Are you great at finding solutions? And mixing them too? We are looking for you!

We are passionate about science and sharing its wonders with our students – we need another Science Technician to join our team and help the Faculty to deliver experiences that inspire and engage our students. Our school is on an ambitious journey of transformation and we are looking for someone who would like to use their experience, subject expertise and vision to make a difference.

About the role:

Working as part of a team, you will assist the Science Faculty in providing practical support for the preparation and delivery of lesson resources; work with a range of scientific materials, and ensure all equipment is monitored, maintained and serviced; and work closely with teaching staff to assist them with practical aspects of their work. Our Science Faculty has strong established links with the University of Liverpool and we regularly collaborate to deliver events and trips for our students to enjoy first-hand experiences of cutting edge practices. We are also the selected secondary school representative in an exciting new microplastics research project, funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry and delivered in partnership with the University of Liverpool and Birkenhead Sixth Form College.

About you:

We wish to appoint a meticulous and well organised individual with a passion for science, and a belief in the importance of engaging with young people to cultivate their love of learning and ambition to explore our world. You will be committed to working safely and efficiently, and operate effectively within a team. You must be able to demonstrate excellent professional standards, and show great energy, resilience and enthusiasm when working under pressure.
