The 35 pupils were split into two groups and enjoyed making flavoured creams in Food Technology and sweet boxes in Art.

Sophie from Year 5 said: “I really enjoyed the food session, our flavoured creams smelt delicious”.

Molly from Year 5 added: “It was lovely to visit BPS, I had a really great morning.”

They were welcomed by our Year 7 team and shown around our unique Year 7 Base which helps ease our younger students from primary to secondary education.

Assistant Head of Year 7 Pauline Kirwan said: “The children had a fantastic morning and were very well behaved and pleased to be here. We always enjoy putting taster sessions like this on as it gives us an opportunity to build relationships with children that could soon become our students. It is equally important for them as it makes that transition from primary to secondary school a lot less daunting.”

Another group of pupils from the school were treated to the same activities the very next day and also had lots of fun. One of the teachers from Woodchurch Road Primary School said: "Both the children and the staff had a fantastic morning and were thoroughly engaged in all of the activities. The staff were great and made the whole experience really enjoyable. Thank you from Y5!"
