The careers event included sessions focussing on life skills, CV writing and post 16 opportunities. There was also a recruitment event as well as trips to the University of Liverpool and a vocational college.

Head of Year 10 Mr Hughes said: “Many students are not sure what they want to do at this age and so it is important that we do what we can to show them the variety of skills, experience and opportunities open to them as they continue with their studies.

“A lot of students will be looking for employment to do alongside education so we work hard to make them feel comfortable in areas such as CV writing as well give them opportunities to meet local employers.”

The ‘Make Me Employable’ event ran across 13, 14 and 15 July and students involved said it was really useful for them.
