The Birkenhead Park School celebrated the end of another year of academic and personal success stories with an Awards Afternoon for Years 7 to 10.

The awards ceremony is a chance for the school’s students to come together and look back on the hard work and achievements of their school year, and give special appreciation to those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty during the 2018-2019 period.

The presentation of awards sat in between an excellent drama production, modelling a news bulletin, and a special Year 7 dance performance which was executed superbly.

Four students were chosen for faculty awards in eight different departments, acknowledging their dedication and determination across English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, ICT, Performing Arts and PE.

Individual awards were also given to students in honour of their commitment to the school values, with Year 7s Wiktoria, Thomas, Ashton and Roberta receiving accolades for Positivity, Ambition, Resilience and Thoughtfulness respectively. Across Years 8 to 10, Libby was the winner of the Positivity award, while Bethany was chosen as the Ambition recipient. Sam gained the Resilience award and Abi was selected for the Thoughtfulness trophy.

Our special guest, Mike Kilbride, Principal at Birkenhead Sixth Form College and CEO of the BePART Educational Trust, rounded off proceedings by presenting Riley with an award on behalf of the College which is reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional character throughout the year, of which Riley was truly deserving.

The school is proud of all of its students, whether they won a particular award or not, and the ceremony was a perfect way to celebrate another excellent year of academic progress and personal growth.
