As part of the schools outreach programme, teachers from BPS provide PE sessions and inputs to primary schools in the area.

52 pupils took part in the festival and had a fantastic time.

The children were put into teams of six and had to complete eight challenges and try and score as many points as possible by either chipping or putting the ball towards targets, over obstacles or through gates.

Head of Year 7 and PE teacher Miss Evans said: “The children really enjoyed the afternoon and always take so much away from these visits. The challenges aimed to develop various skills including co-operation, honesty, perseverance and respect. In addition to the excitement of the event, these sessions are a great way for the students to have a look around and get familiar with the surroundings so if they choose to move onto our school it is not so daunting.”

A team from Priory Primary School won the event and received certificates.

One teacher from Portland Primary said: “Thank you so much, it was great, really well organised and the Year 8 helpers were brilliant. All of our pupils loved it and can’t wait to come back again.
