A new academic year brings new exciting opportunities and new extracurricular clubs and activities to The Birkenhead Park School. Students have had the opportunity to participate in a huge variety of sports, games and activities during their time at the Birkenhead Park School, and this new Autumn term is no exception.

All of our students are encouraged to attend several clubs per week as part of our Excellence for All programme - a great way to be rewarded for their proactive efforts in improving their skills. With over 60 extracurricular activities and sports clubs taking place every week, there really is something for everyone, and they reinforce our school values, especially AMBITION.

We offer a huge variety of clubs, from Lego, ideas club and art and marvellous makes, to creative history, music, drama and a wide selection of sports. Almost anything you can think of is on our timetable.

Extracurricular activities help students to learn about themselves and develop their skills and knowledge in different contexts. Our students also build long-lasting friendships, gain transferrable skills and improve their confidence. These elevated social skills are essential and much sought after by colleges and future employers. All of our clubs are created to inspire our students, and expand on the skills already learned within the Curriculum: students who participate are also more likely to aspire to go on to Further and Higher education.

Associate Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Critchlow, said: “Extracurricular activity is so important for young people, and can be especially advantageous in helping to improve the life-chances of our students. It forms a huge part of our approach at The Birkenhead Park School, and having just been awarded the Gold Award in the 21/22 School Games Mark, it shows we are succeeding.”
