The Birkenhead Park School (BPS) is immensely proud to announce that our very own Ms Tisdale has been awarded Support Star of the Year at the Educate Awards 2025, following the prestigious ceremony on Friday night.
Ms Tisdale was shortlisted as a finalist for this prestigious award last month, which recognises outstanding members of school support teams who go above and beyond in their roles. The category focuses on people whose contribution has a lasting and positive impact on students, colleagues and the school environment.
Founded in 2012 and held annually ever since, the Educate Awards are the largest education awards ceremony in the North West, bringing together schools, colleges, teachers and support staff from across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria. It is one of the region’s most celebrated education events, shining a spotlight on excellence across the sector.
Joined by the rest of The Birkenhead Park School attendance team, Ms Tisdale enjoyed an unforgettable evening, complete with a three-course meal, entertainment, and of course, the ceremony itself.
When Ms Tisdale’s name was announced as the winner of Support Star of the Year, she walked the red carpet to Elvis Presley’s ‘The Wonder of You’ before taking the stage to receive her award, presented by Sue Cronin, Director of Apprenticeships at Liverpool Hope University.
Ms Tisdale is at the heart of our attendance team at BPS. Having worked in attendance for a number of years, she joined our school in July 2022 and has since become an integral pillar of support for students and families.
Her passion for improving student outcomes through strong attendance shines through in every aspect of her work. She provides extra assistance to families who need it, ensuring that every young person receives the guidance and encouragement needed to attend school consistently.
Senior Attendance Manager, Ms Tisdale, said: “I’m absolutely honoured to have won Support Star of the Year! It was such an amazing night and I’m incredibly grateful to the Educate Awards team and judges for this recognition. I also want to thank the sponsor of this award, Apprenticeships at Liverpool Hope University, and, of course, the rest of my attendance team – this award reflects all of their hard work, as well as our whole-school commitment to improving attendance. I’m proud to be part of something so positive!”
The award comes at an exciting time for our school, which recently achieved the most improved attendance on the Wirral for the 2024-25 academic year. Attendance continues to be a key priority for the school, as staff continue to build on success and help every student reach their full potential.
A huge congratulations to Ms Tisdale on this remarkable recognition – it is very well-deserved!
