The Year 7 singing group recently attended an annual community Christmas Carol Concert at St James' Church in Birkenhead.

Assistant Heads of Year, Mrs Kirwan and Mrs Davies took the Year 7 singing group, where they were warmly welcomed by Reverend Steve Mansfield at the Community Carols Celebration.

The Christmas cheer started with carols performed by Portland and Bidston Avenue Primary Schools, followed by guest speaker Minister Rob Barker who had fun tales to tell of past Christmas celebrations.  The students joined the congregation in singing carols old and new and listened to The St James Centre Baobab Oak Community Choir and Folk band Cross Hill Waits, followed by a table of fantastic refreshments.

Staff and students enjoyed the evening and didn’t want the festive fun to end!

Student, Makenziy commented, “We had an amazing time, the singing was fantastic.” Fellow student Sophie added, “The guest speaker was fun, it was a great night.”

Mrs Kirwan commented on how enjoyable the evening had been overall, stating, “It was a pleasure to take the student’s singing group to the Christmas Carol concert - their behaviour was impeccable.”
