Students go the extra mile with History homework!
29 March 2017
When set their weekly homework to draw and design medieval instruments for battle, students took it upon themselves to get stuck in at home and not only come up with the design but physically make the weapons out of everyday household objects.
These ideas included a catapult created from wood and string, a morning star made from gaffer tape and a war hammer made from a spade and tinfoil.
Teacher of Humanities, Mrs Ryan, said “It’s amazing to see our students go above and beyond with their homework They were only asked to draw and design medieval weapons and I was blown away by their efforts. It is outstanding and so nice to see our students engaging with classwork and homework, enjoying themselves and including the whole family in their learning.”
One of the pupils, Conrad, said: “My Dad and I built the catapult at home together. I really enjoyed seeing my idea being created.”
