If you have come across The Birkenhead Park School’s social media posts recently, you may have noticed our latest campaign: #LifeInYear7.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been sharing snapshots of our Year 7 students in lessons, extracurricular clubs, and more, offering a real insight into their everyday life at BPS. From science experiments and creative art lessons to building Lego robots and playing football, the campaign highlights the variety of learning and experiences our young people enjoy.
The transition from Year 6 to Year 7 is a significant milestone for our students and their families. Starting secondary school brings new subjects, teachers and peers, and we recognise that it can feel like a big step. Through #LifeInYear7, we wanted to capture the everyday moments that show how quickly our Year 7s are growing in confidence and embracing new challenges.
Our Year 7s have also enjoyed a wide range of experiences beyond the classroom, including trips to The Hive Youth Zone to participate in sports, arts and crafts, and team-building activities, and some have even attended a karate session at Birkenhead Karate Club.
We are very proud of how well our students have settled in. They have tried new things, built wonderful friendships with one another, and shown great enthusiasm for learning across all areas of school life.
By sharing these real moments, we also hope that Year 6 pupils and their families, who will be joining us in September, gain a clearer picture of what life at The Birkenhead Park School is truly like.
Mrs A Galer, Leader of Year 7, said: “I am incredibly proud of our students. They have settled into secondary school quickly, and it has been a pleasure to work with them. They have already achieved so much, showing great ambition and positivity. I can’t wait to see all they accomplish over the rest of this academic year.”
Looking ahead, our Year 7s will continue to take part in a wide range of activities. Over the next couple of weeks, they will engage in National Careers Week, including our What’s Next Careers Fair, quizzes and workshops. There will also be exciting activities for our Culture Day, the next stage of our Ignite Speeches, visits to Liverpool John Moores University, and Activity Day trips in the summer term.
It has been fantastic to see our Year 7 students thriving and enjoying life at The Birkenhead Park School. We look forward to watching them flourish and achieve success over the coming years.
