The SMSC (spiritual, moral, social and cultural development) drop down day also involved other outside agencies from Health Services in School.

Working in small groups, the students were guided through six interactive zones aiming to provide them with relevant and up to date information about sexual health and risk taking behaviour that might include drugs and alcohol.

The annual event is designed to provoke discussion and debate on issues young people face every day and is always well received by the students.

A presentation was also given about LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender) issues.

Subject lead for SMSC, Miss Garnett said: “The sessions were well received by the students who all found it interesting and informative; it is something that really gets the students talking.”
